this goal easily. Indeed you flee the pressures in the service, the so-called
"yes, boss", the hours of rest loaded with phone calls. In short, you
refuse to be in order, all this is quite normal because your freedom matters
to you. The question is how do you realize this desire and come out of it with
your head held high?
The opportunity I offer you is to
work on the internet. But first of all, you need skill. So don't worry. The
purpose of this article is to show you how to become a Web Developer in order
to earn money on the internet or web design
company.
HOW TO BECOME A WEB DEVELOPER?
Indeed, the job that I offer you
is the profession of web development. Of course, you can and easily. You just
need to learn the basics of this craft which I will show you. Likewise, it is
one of the highest paying trades, so that's why I chose it. The great advantage
is that you can work independently. In addition, its start-up cost is
insignificant and finally, you can sell your work online.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO LEARN TO BE A WEB DEVELOPER?
You often notice that this
question is common among all people who want to be a developer and make a
career out of it. In fact, my answer to this question is not one of the
century nor the only one, but rather a non-binding path that will lead you to
become a web developer.
My method for knowing what to
learn to be a web developer consists of 6 clear steps.
1. LEARN HTML
If you want to be a web
developer, it is important to have a good grasp of HTML.
This is because HTML is a markup
language that allows us to define the structure of a web page. By the way,
using markup tags, you can define it. It is therefore the basis of any web
page. So if you are not proficient in HTML, you cannot continue to progress in
the world of web programming. For this reason, it is essential to learn it.
2. LEARN CSS
The next step is to learn how to
style the web page with CSS . In reality, CSS is a cascading stylesheet, which
is the language that will allow us to make the web look like. So therefore, it
is important to know how to style a website. Hence, this is the step you need
to take after learning HTML
3. LEARN JAVASCRIPT
Above all, be aware that the ease
of mastering languages increases with the progression of learning. Once you
know the previous two points, the next thing to learn about being a web
developer would be JavaScript, which is a booming language because
technologies like NodeJS, Angular, and many more exist. They allow you to do
amazing things on the web. With JavaScript, you can provide interactivity to
the web.
4. STOP STUDYING AND START PRACTICE
It is time to give way to
practice. Because now is the time to master what you have learned and put all
the pieces of the puzzle together. What you need to do is have a complete
website and give it some interactivity with JavaScript.
5. LEARN DATABASES AND SQL
Now is the time to learn some
Backends and before learning any other programming language it is important to
master databases and SQL language.
So you have to choose the program
you want to learn and put energy into it. Go step by step by defining where you
need to start. For example I would choose MySQL, I would learn to design a
database and I would learn how to do all types of queries that are in SQL. This
is a critical point where many people fail.
6. LEARN
A BACK-END LANGUAGE (PHP, NODEJS)
For this step, you need to learn
a backend language like PHP which will allow your website to be dynamic and
interact with databases.
HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR SKILLS?
Companies already have the option
of hiring a freelance web developer in other parts of the world who would do
the job for a much lower price. So what are you doing so that you don't become
a commodity and be so easily replaced? The solution is to:
BUILD YOUR PERSONAL BRAND
Your personal brand describes to
your target audience who you are, what you represent and what sets you apart
from other freelancers. A personal brand is one of the most critical things to
have in this competitive industry. Why has it? First, it sets you apart from
the crowd, second you establish yourself as an expert and finally you gain the
trust of others.
Now that you understand the
importance of branding and how it can dramatically transform your business:
Here are some practical
tips to market yourself as an independent developer :
1. DEFINE YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER
Knowing your ideal customer is
essential as they will guide you in aligning your personal brand so that you
are reliable and attractive to your target audience. One way to do this is to
create a buyer persona who is a semi-fictional portrayal of your ideal customer
based on extensive market research and informed assumptions.
2.
DEVELOP A SINGLE SALE PROPOSAL
A Unique Selling Proposition
(USP) is the only thing you can offer your customers to help you stand out. It
addresses a specific challenge faced by your customer that you can solve
exceptionally well.
4. SHARE YOUR STORY
Sharing your story is probably
the hardest part because it means you have to become transparent, honest, and
vulnerable. At the same time, I will say that it is not an obligation. However,
this can be beneficial in some cases. Telling your story also helps you show
your personality to your target audience and connect with them on a deeper
level.
5. START BLOGGING
An effective way to quickly build
your personal brand as a web developer is to start a blog. In a nutshell, it
not only provides a way to share your knowledge and advice, but it also
establishes you as an expert or authority in the eyes of your target audience. When
you build consistent and useful things, you are the right individual for your
needs and questions.
6. CREATE AN ONLINE PORTFOLIO
This is about online
presence. To establish your brand, it is essential to have a portfolio website
that displays your expertise. An online portfolio is where you can attract
potential clients so they can find out more about you, what you've been up to,
and how you can help them.
9. ASK FOR TESTIMONIALS
Despite the different types of
marketing strategies, nothing beats the power of word of mouth advertising. This
you can use it in developing your personal brand by using in your online portfolio
reports from past customers.
All you have to do is ask them:
"Would you be pleased to give me a brief testimony about the quality of my
service?"
